This painting was a playful one to create, a “being with” mandala - the alchemy of being with whatever you’re feeling inside and the sensations arising in your body. If there is resistance to what is “here,” then a noticing of resistance and being with that.
Each face represents different states: The red one - pure presence, containment and being here. The blue one - the solace of being with self, eyes closed, bathing in soothing blue. The one with stripes - the quiet, deep place of being with melancholy, sadness. The green one - the ecstatic one with eyes that could seen as closed or open, eyes rolled up in her head. She wanted little arms up in ecstasy floating in green healing waters.
The painting can be hung eight different ways. The mandala center-point for meditation represents stillness, pure being-ness, underlying and including everything and the blessing of the present moment amidst all the waves and states of being here in a body.
