As I paint, there is a quickening of my heart and spirit, a burgeoning love for the form that is emerging on the canvas.  A more subtle listening and calibration naturally occurs inside me as I continue.  Various expressions come to the face as the layers of paint build and deepen.  There is a reflection of me in each of these expressions and a growing relationship and recognition in Being.  At certain moments I feel a further coalescing and arrival of Her (The paintings I have done so far are females, but we shall see who reveals themselves next).

I spend significant time communing with her in stillness between times of active painting.  There is healing and strengthening in that, a releasing of tears, often, as their eyes and spirit hold and express so much to me and for me.  The paintings with eyes closed draw me in in a different way but equally as engaging.  Bringing Her to full arrival and presence is a tender and sometimes frustrating dance, but so worth every moment to bring Her to fruition.  It is a sweet satisfaction, a release and relief, a sense of culmination and coming full circle.

These Icons are a doorway for me to the Beloved, the Great Mystery, an intensification of feeling of love for the Divine and the Divine as myself, all one continuum of Being.  My deepest intention - that the doorway my Icons are for me could also be that for those who encounter them.
