My red cloak is always around you.
My red cloak is always with you.
My dynamic heart beats for you,
springing forward, as though
out of my chest, for you.
All I am is for you.
I see you and hold you
in my folds.
Even in your darkest,
even in your deepest,

darkest, darkness.

Feel the passion
of my heart for you.
Remember my red glow
helping you come alive
when you feel dead.
My beating heart,
full of the blood of Christ,
full of the blood of life,
beats for you.
You are my true companion,
as I am yours.

Even when you feel alone,

you are not.
Through every situation,
woven into every situation,
is the possibility for liberation,
in that moment.
A releasing into
the all that is,
all that ever was
and never was.

The great void of the mother.

Let the darkness be your refuge.
Your dark and starry night.
And let those stars
guide you home,
to the center of your being.
The one and inseparable
Sacred Heart of Being.

This painting is a contemplation and expression of what I most care about in life, what gets my blood moving and boiling.  She represents a wish, a prayer, a love letter, to those who are needing and wanting liberation - whether it is liberation from disease, poverty, abuse, racism, political oppression, the desire for spiritual liberation, or the liberating force of connection to what you care most deeply about.  I also wanted  to communicate being liberated through the embrace in place of where you are, as you are, who you are.

On the bottom left is a string of laboradorite beads with tassels, bringing in a dimensional element related to the ancient arts of embellishment and adornment of women and men.  In her forehead is a picture of the Moscow-based, punk band, Pussy Riot. At the time I was painting this, I was quite upset that they were arrested for their protesting.  This was my way of saying, “Let the Goddess bless them as they go through their judicial process.”
