our Mother Earth.
After meditation, suddenly, surprisingly, in through the window came a swirling energy accompanied by wonderful, high-pitched melodious sounds moving around my dorm room. They danced around my head and then, danced, out the window. There was this knowing inside, “Oh, it’s the fairies.” Just thinking of them tickles me.
This is my first painting of a fairy. Her colors are gentle and soft. If you look in her eyes though, you’ll see her determination. I don’t know if there is such a thing as determination in fairies, (wink) but here she is.
Towards the end of painting her, I adhered a piece of bismuth, a chemical element. I wanted to include something natural, to honor the fairies’ intimate connection with the energies of earth.
